Q: What is FCW(Flux Cored Wire)? And what makes it different from Solid wire

FCW is a welding material, which is filled up with FLUX in tube-typed wire. Nowadays it is not only used in the shipyard but also in the work places. It generates less spatter because it contains a good point of covered electrodes and Solid wire (as it is called CO2 Wire). So it is stable, smooth ARC and available for all position.                               more...

Q: What is difference between Slag type FCW and Metal type FCW?

The inside of FCW is full of FLUX in purpose of guarantee the mechanical nature of deposited metal, innovative advancement in the work place and improving the exterior of bid. This FLUX consists of alloy or metal power to adjust the mechanical efficiency of steel with deoxidation to reduce the oxygen contained in the molten metal, Arc stabilizer to make soft ARC and Slag former. From  converting kind of flux material, it can make various product that can be suitable for specific use. Among this kind of FLUX, it can be distinguished between Slag Type FCW and Metal Type FCW depending on the quantity and character of Slag Former. It is called Slag FCW when Fulx Material became Slag after welding and then it covered the surface of welding bid. And It is call FCW Metal when it become one of the deposited metal, which is main material of metal or power of alloy.                             more...
